What we do

We build free tools that answer the practical questions every pet parent runs into — how much to feed, how big a puppy will get, what a pet's age really means, when vaccines are due — and we're building the honest, plain-English guide to the expensive decisions that come next: insurance, food, and vet care.

Every tool runs in your browser, free, with no account and no upsell wall. The math behind them is the same math veterinarians use, and we name our sources so you can check our work.

What we believe

• Honest beats loud. We don't scare you into a purchase or bury the caveats. If a tool is an estimate, we say so. If your vet should make the call, we say that too.
• Grounded in the guidelines. Our feeding math comes from the Merck Veterinary Manual, our vaccine timing from AAHA and AAFP guidelines, our dog-age formula from peer-reviewed aging research. Sources are always named.
• Transparent about money. Some links earn us a commission. We tell you plainly, and it never changes what we recommend or what the tools calculate. See how we make money.

Who it's for

New puppy and kitten parents figuring it out for the first time; long-time owners who want a straight answer without a 2,000-word detour; anyone who's tired of pet content written to sell rather than to help. Dogs and cats both — we cover the two animals most households actually live with.

Where we are

PetGrit is early. The four tools are live and genuinely useful today; the guidance library and our independent insurance comparisons are next. We'd rather ship something honest and finished than something padded and vague — so this site will grow deliberately. If a tool or article can help you, it's here because we believe it's right, not because it was easy to monetize.
